Assembly Procedure

  1. Position the handle assembly in the I/P compartment door.
  2. Install the U-clip under the retaining tabs on the handle assembly.
  3. Install the latch and rod assembly to the handle assembly.
  4. Position the latch and rod assembly to the I/P compartment door.
    5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the fasteners to attach the latch and rod assembly to the I/P compartment door.

    Tighten:  Tighten the glove compartment latch fastener to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P compartment door retainer bushing.
    1. Position the I/P compartment door retainer bushings in the I/P compartment door holes.
    2. Push the I/P compartment door retainer bushings in until seated.
  7. Position the I/P compartment to the I/P compartment door.
  8. Install the fasteners.

    Tighten:  Tighten the glove compartment door outer cover faster to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  9. Push the I/P compartment door pins from the outside I/P door to the inside I/P compartment.
