Removal Procedure
- Remove the striker cover. Refer to Striker Cover Replacement (Coupe - 2nd Design) .
- Remove the windshield garnish molding (2nd design). Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (Without Head Curtain Inflator Module) or Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (1st Design Coupe) or Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (1st Design Sedan/Wagon) .
- Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan - 1st Design) or Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan - 2nd Design) or Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Wagon - 1st Design) or Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Wagon - 2nd Design) or Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe - 1st Design) or Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe - 2nd Design) .
- Remove the left front seat belt. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front (Coupe 1st Design) or Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front (Coupe 2nd Design) in Seat Belts.
- If the vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module:
- Remove the second to last curtain airbag attachment and allow it to hand loose.
- Disengage the curtain airbag channel ties that keep the airbag in position.
- To remove the channel do the following:
- Lift forward edge up from the behind striker cover bracket.
- Pull forward to slide the channel tab from behind the rear striker cover bracket.
- To remove the striker cover brackets do the following:
- To remove the front bracket, pull at the clip location to disengage.
- To remove the rear bracket, disengage the lower clip and slide the upper insert out of the space frame.
