Front Disc Brake Pads & Caliper: Installation

  1. Using a C-clamp, insert caliper piston all the way to bottom of caliper bore.
  2. Lubricate pin sleeve with silicone grease and install into caliper.
  3. Lubricate straight section (not threads) of guide pins with silicone grease.
  4. Install inner and outer brake pads into caliper.
  5. Install caliper body onto caliper support.
  6. Install guide pins and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Install caliper retaining spring.
  8. Connect brake hose to caliper using new washers.
  9. Bleed brakes. Install wheels. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Lower vehicle from hoist.
