Fuel Injector Circuit Diagnosis (VIN K & 1 - Regal)

  1. If diagnostic system check has already been performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK - ENGINE CONTROLS in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article.
  2. Are any fuel injector DTCs set? If yes, go to DTC P0201-P0206. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article. If no, go to next step.
  3. Inspect the fuel injector fuse. Fuse is located in underhood fuse/relay block. Is fuel injector fuse open? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  5.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect a fuel injector harness connector. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe the ignition 1 voltage supply circuit of a fuel injector. Does test light illuminate? If yes, go to step  6. If no, problem is intermittent. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect a fuel injector harness connector. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Probe the ignition 1 voltage supply circuit of the fuel injector with test light connected to a good ground. Does the test light illuminate? If yes, go to DTC P0341. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article. If no, go to step  7.
  6. Test the ignition 1 voltage supply circuit of each fuel injector for a short to ground. Replace the fuse. After repairs, go to step  8.
  7. Repair open or poor connection in the ignition 1 voltage supply circuit of the fuel injectors. After repairs, go to next step.
  8. Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to step  3.
