Drum Brakes

  1. Remove parking brake boot from console by squeezing sides and pulling upward.
  2. Raise vehicle on hoist, allowing wheels to spin freely.
  3. Pull parking brake lever to 3rd click.
  4. Tighten adjuster nut at the base of parking brake handle so there is heavy drag to no rotation, equal to both rear wheels.
  5. Apply and release parking brake several times. There should be no drag when parking brake lever is in rest position.
  6. Pull parking brake to 3rd click. There should be heavy drag at both wheels when turned by hand.
  7. If necessary, repeat steps  3 - 5 until adjustment is correct.
  8. Install parking brake lever boot.
  9. Lower vehicle from hoist.
