Instrument Cluster

The instrument cluster receives information via the Class 2 serial data link from the 4 cylinder (L61) Body Control Module (BCM), the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM). On V6 (L81) engine applications, the information from the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Transaxle Control Module (TCM) is sent to the BCM over the CAN serial data link where it is converted to a Class 2 message and sent to the cluster. The information from the Electronic Brake/Traction Control Module (EBTCM) is sent to the BCM, where it is converted into a Class 2 message and sent to the cluster.
