Side Impact Sensors

Side Impact Sensors (SIS) are located in driver and passenger-side lower B-pillars. SIS contains an accelerometer which converts acceleration into an electrical signal. When this signal exceeds preset parameters, a signal is sent to SDM, which inflates the head impact air bag on side of impact.
