Crankshaft & Main Bearings

Main bearing caps are numbered 1 through 5. Caps must be installed with arrow pointing toward front of engine. If bearing journal dimensions are not within specification, replace bearings, grind journals and/or replace crankshaft as necessary. See CRANKSHAFT, MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. DO NOT remove more than .010" (.25 mm) of material from journals. Bearings are available in .010" (.25 mm) undersize.
