Inspection (Disc & Drum Brakes)

  1. Raise and support rear of vehicle. Turn rear wheels by hand. There should be no brake drag at rear wheels with parking brake lever at rest position.
  2. At fourth ratchet click, there should be heavy drag or no rotation of rear wheels. If brake drag is as specified, parking brake is adjusted properly. If brake drag is not as specified, adjust parking brake.
