Removal & Installation Head Impact - Sedan & Wagon

1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
2. Remove headliner. See HEADLINER . Loosen inflator bolts and lift to detach from cross car beam. See Fig 2. Remove tether attachment bolt and upper fill tube bolt. Remove air bag bolts. Remove air bag housing from Velcro® tab. Remove head impact air bag module from vehicle.
3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Check system for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
