Diagnostic Procedure
- If SIR diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Turn ignition on. Observe instrument cluster operation. If instrument cluster warning lights are not operational, go to next step. If other warning lights are operational, replace instrument cluster. Go to step 7.
- Inspect fuel and temperature gauge operation. If both gauges are working, go to next step. If both gauges are not working, go to step 5.
- Remove instrument cluster. Using Digital Multimeter (SA911141NE) with Adapter Kit (SA9206Z), measure resistance in circuit 350 from terminal B4 of instrument panel connector to ground. See Figure. If resistance is greater than one ohm, repair high resistance condition in circuit 350. If resistance is one ohm or less, replace instrument panel cluster. Go to step 7.
- Check IGN 1 fuse. If fuse is not blown, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse. Go to step 7.
- Remove instrument panel cluster. Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage at terminal A1 of circuit 39. See Figure. If battery voltage is present, replace instrument cluster. If battery voltage is not present, repair open condition in circuit 39. Go to next step.
- Reconnect all SIR components. Using scan tool, clear SIR DTCs. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
