Pressure Bleeding

CAUTION: To prevent air, moisture and other contaminants from entering hydraulic system, pressure bleeder must have a diaphragm between air supply and fluid.
  1. Clean brake fluid reservoir cap and area around cap. Install Pressure Bleeder Adapter (SA9150BR) on master cylinder reservoir. Connect diaphragm-type pressure bleeder to adapter. Charge pressure bleeder with 20-25 psi (1.41-1.76 kg/cm2 ) of compressed air.
  2. If master cylinder is not suspected of having air in it, go to step  4 . If master cylinder is suspected of having air in it, place cloth under master cylinder to absorb brake fluid. Loosen upper front brakeline at master cylinder. Allow fluid to flow from fitting until it is clear and free of air bubbles. Tighten brakeline.
  3. Loosen upper rear brakeline at master cylinder. Allow fluid to flow until it is clear and free of air bubbles. Place wrench over bleeder valve of first component to be bled. See BRAKELINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE  table. Attach transparent hose to bleeder valve. Submerge other end of hose in container of clean brake fluid.
  4. Loosen bleeder valve. Allow fluid to flow from fitting until it is clear and free of air bubbles. Tighten bleeder valve. Perform same procedure at remaining components in order specified. Fill master cylinder fluid reservoir. Check brake pedal feel. If pedal feels spongy, repeat bleeding procedure.
