Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor low coolant switch status while cycling switch. If scan tool indicates correct switch status, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If scan tool does not indicate correct switch status, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect low coolant switch connector. While monitoring scan tool, connect a jumper between low coolant switch harness connector terminal No. 1 (Light Green wire) and No. 2 (Pink wire). Continue monitoring scan tool and disconnect jumper wire. If scan tool indicates correct switch status, replace low coolant switch. If scan tool does not indicate correct switch status, go to next step.
  3. Connect test light to ground and probe low coolant switch harness connector terminal No. 2 (Pink wire). If test light illuminates, replace low coolant switch. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Pink wire between underhood fuse block and low coolant switch.
