SERVICE INFORMATION

The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information regarding the availability of GM OnStar® vehicle diagnostics and GM Goodwrench® remote diagnostic services to address these possible customer comments and/or questions:

Customer is unable to enroll in OnStar® Vehicle Diagnostics (OVD) or that the OnStar® call center is unable to perform a GM Goodwrench® Remote Diagnostic Service check of their OnStar®-equipped vehicle.
Customer may comment that during a GM Goodwrench® Remote Diagnostic Service check, the OnStar® call center advisor may report that they are unable to probe certain modules when checking for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Availability of GM OnStar® Vehicle Diagnostics

OVD e-mail is available on most 2004 model year and later OnStar®-equipped GM vehicles equipped with the GM Oil Life System. This service requires a valid customer e-mail address and Active OnStar® subscription. If the vehicle is not equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), the OVD e-mail will not contain any information about the braking system. Diagnostic capabilities vary by model.

OVD is not available on the following models:

2004-2005 Buick LeSabre without a Driver Information Center (DIC) (RPO UB7)
2004-2005 Buick Park Avenue
2004-2005 Chevrolet Cavalier
2004-2005 Pontiac Sunfire
2005-2008 Pontiac Vibe
2008 Saturn Astra

Availability of GM Goodwrench® Remote Diagnostic Services

GM Goodwrench® Remote Diagnostic service checks are available on most 2000 model year and later OnStar®-equipped vehicles. If the vehicle is not equipped with ABS, then the Remote Diagnostic service check will not be able to probe the braking system. Diagnostic capabilities vary by model.

GM Goodwrench® Remote Diagnostic service checks are not available on the following models:

2005-2008 Pontiac Vibe
2008 Saturn Astra
