Removal & Installation (2000 Models - With Seal Housing Removed)
Remove flywheel/flexplate. See appropriate article in CLUTCHES (M/T), or appropriate TRANSMISSION REMOVAL & INSTALLATION article in TRANSMISSION SERVICING (A/T). Using pry tangs provided on carrier, carefully remove oil seal using screwdriver and hammer. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to sealing lip and seal housing bore. Using Rear Crankshaft Seal Installer (SA9121E) install rear crankshaft seal. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
