Removal (SOHC)

Remove battery. Remove front cover and timing chain. See FRONT COVER & TIMING CHAIN . Remove camshaft sprocket. Remove rocker shaft bolts and rocker shafts (note location for reassembly reference). Remove lifter guide and lifters (note location for reassembly reference). Drive camshaft rear plug into cylinder head, and then remove plug with a magnet. Remove camshaft through rear end of cylinder head.
