Blower Motor Operates In High Speed, But Not In One Or More Of The Other Speeds
NOTE:
If blower motor does not work in any speed other than high, check for open fusible link in blower fan resistor.
- Turn ignition on. Check operation of blower motor and verify inoperative speed(s). Turn blower motor switch to inoperative blower speed. Using DVOM, check for voltage between ground and terminal "C" (Yellow wire) at blower motor resistor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage is not present, go to next step. If voltage is present, check for open in Yellow wire between blower motor relay and blower motor. If blower motor operation is still not correct, replace blower motor.
- Disconnect blower motor resistor connector. Turn blower motor switch to inoperative speed(s). Using DVOM, check for voltage at appropriate blower motor resistor terminal(s). See BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If voltage is not present, go to next step. If voltage is present, replace blower motor resistor.
- Ensure ignition is on. Turn blower motor switch to inoperative speed(s). Using DVOM, check voltage at appropriate blower motor switch terminal(s). See BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If voltage is not present at all speeds, replace blower motor switch. If voltage is present, repair open in appropriate circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
