CONDITION
Some customers may comment on a whistle noise while making slight left turns.
CAUSE
Condition may be due to the power steering gear.
CORRECTION
Refer to the "Power Steering Gear Removal and Installation Procedure" found in the Steering Section of the appropriate Saturn L-Series Chassis Service Manual. Replace the Steering Gear with P/N 22708505 which has internal modifications to correct the whistle noise concern.
PROCEDURE
- Verify the customer concern of whistle noise.
- If the whistle noise can be heard with slight left steering input, refer to the "Power Steering Gear Removal and Installation Procedure" found in the Steering Section of the appropriate Saturn L-Series Chassis Service Manual. Replace the Steering Gear with P/N 22708505.
IMPORTANT:
The changes in Steering Gear P/N 22708505 are only for the whistle noise.
