SQUEAK, RATTLE AND POOR FIT FROM DEFROSTER GRILLE

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN

SUBJECT

Squeak, Rattle and Poor Fit from Defroster Grille (Install Redesigned Defroster Grille).

MODELS AFFECTED

2000 - 2002 Saturn L-Series vehicles.

CONDITION

Some customers may comment the defroster grille exhibits poor fit and/or a squeak or rattle is coming from the top of the dash panel area.

CAUSE

This condition may be caused by insufficient retention of the attachment clips on the defroster grille-to-dash panel assembly.

CORRECTION

To correct this condition replace the defroster grille with the redesigned grille according to the parts information section in this bulletin. Refer to service procedure in this bulletin to replace defroster grille.

PROCEDURE

1. Pull up on defroster grille to disengage attaching clips. See Fig 1 .
2. Remove defroster grille from dash panel assembly.
3. Install redesigned defroster grille-to-dash panel assembly according to the "Parts Requirements" section in this bulletin.
