Steering Wheel: Installation

NOTE: If SIR coil assembly has unintentionally rotated during steering wheel service, SIR coil assembly must be centered. See CENTERING SIR COIL ASSEMBLY under ADJUSTMENTS.

Ensure front wheels are straight ahead. Remove Yellow tab or tape from coil assembly. Route wiring through steering wheel and install wheel onto shaft, noting orientation notch that locates steering wheel in correct position. Install NEW steering wheel nut, and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse remainder of removal procedure.
