Removal & Installation

CAUTION: DO NOT damage bore or crankshaft sealing area during removal of rear oil seal.
  1. Remove flywheel/flexplate. See appropriate article in CLUTCHES (M/T) or TRANSMISSION REMOVAL & INSTALLATION article in TRANSMISSION SERVICING (A/T). Carefully pry seal out of seal housing.
  2. Install seal using Rear Crankshaft Seal Installer (J42067). Installer also establishes depth of seal in crankshaft seal bore. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
