Heater Inlet/Outlet Hoses: Installation

NOTE: Heater inlet hose quick connect coupling collar is black. Heater outlet quick connect coupling collar is white. The white line on the hoses should always be installed at the 12 o'clock position.
  1. Install heater core inlet hose to thermostat housing at rear of engine. See Figure .
  2. Position heater core inlet hose to thermostat housing clamp at 12 o'clock position.
  3. Install heater outlet hose to thermostat at housing at left side of housing. See Figure .
  4. Position heater outlet hose to thermostat housing clamp at 12 o'clock position.
  5. Install heater inlet quick connect to heater inlet pipe (closest to driver's side). Holding quick connect by black collar, slide onto heater pipe. When quick connect engages heater pipe bead, collar will slide toward the front of dash and lock into position.
  6. Verify proper engagement of quick connect by attempting to pull inlet hose off of the heater pipe.
  7. Install heater outlet quick connect to heater inlet pipe (closest to passenger side). Holding quick connect by white collar, slide onto heater pipe. When quick connect engages heater pipe bead, collar will slide toward the front of dash and lock into position.
  8. Verify proper engagement of quick connect by attempting to pull outlet hose off of the heater pipe.
  9. Install heater hose assembly clamp (if removed). See Figure .
  10. Connect negative battery cable.
  11. Fill and bleed air from cooling system. See BLEEDING  .
