Hood Primary Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the hood.

Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

2. Raise the vehicle.




3. From underneath the front of the vehicle, disconnect the cable from the latch.
4. Remove the primary hood latch spring.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the primary hood latch spring.
2. Connect the cable to the latch.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Close the hood. Inspect the latch operation and fit.
5. Adjust the latch as required. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments) .
