Pcm Learn Mode

  1. PCM will change transaxle shift points depending on driving conditions or changes in engine performance. If PCM memory or vehicle battery is disconnected, PCM must relearn current operating parameters.
  2. Perform the following procedures on a clear highway. Place mode select switch (located on center console) in NORMAL position. With transaxle at normal operating temperature, place gear selector in "D4" position. Open throttle about 30 percent. Perform 10 complete 1-2, 2-3 to 3-4 upshifts.
  3. While coasting at 35 MPH (DOHC) or 40 MPH (SOHC), open throttle halfway to create a 4-3 downshift. Repeat 5 times. Move gear selector to "D3" position. While coasting at 20 MPH (DOHC) or 30 MPH (SOHC), open throttle 75 percent to create a 3-2 downshift. Repeat 5 times.
