Blower Motor Inoperative
- Turn ignition off. Check for voltage between ground and blower motor connector terminal "B" (Purple wire). Turn ignition and blower motor (HVAC fan) switch on. If no voltage is present, go to step 3). If voltage is present, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and blower motor connector terminal "A" (Gray wire). If no continuity is present, repair open circuit. If continuity is present, replace blower motor and ensure proper blower motor operation.
- Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between instrument panel junction block Black 68-pin connector terminal "D4" (Purple wire) and blower motor connector terminal "B" (Purple wire). If continuity is present, go to next step. If no continuity is present, repair open circuit in Purple wire and ensure proper blower motor operation.
- Check for voltage between ground and blower motor switch terminal "C" (Orange wire). Turn ignition switch to ON position. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, turn ignition off. Repair open in Orange wire circuit between blower motor switch and junction block and ensure proper blower motor operation.
- Check voltage at specified terminals of blower motor switch connector with switch in specified position. See BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If battery voltage is not present at all terminals, turn ignition off. Replace blower motor switch and ensure proper blower motor operation. If battery voltage is present at all terminals, check connections at instrument panel junction block. If connections are okay, replace junction block and ensure proper blower motor operation.
