No Reverse Gear

  1. Low fluid level. Low fluid pressure. High clutch dragging. Check transaxle for 2nd gear operation. If no 2nd gear, refer to DTC P0732. See AUTO TRANS DIAGNOSIS article. If 2nd gear is possible, ensure flat surface of manual valve is facing up.
  2. If manual valve is okay, remove valve body. Block off 2nd clutch feed hole. Using a rag, cover 1st apply piston port to prevent fluid spray. See Figure . Apply air pressure to reverse pressure to servo apply port.
  3. If servo does not move, check servo piston for stuck condition and damaged seal. If servo motor moves, repair faulty dog clutch or oil tube hub seal rings.
