Conditions For Setting DTC P0781

DTC P0781 will set under the following conditions:

• 1st gear is commanded by PCM.
• No noise detected on turbine shaft speed or vehicle speed signals.
• Vehicle speed greater than 3 MPH.
• Turbine shaft speed greater than 224 RPM.
• Speed ratio across torque converter is less than 180. PCM monitors difference between engine RPM and turbine shaft RPM. For example, 255 equals TCC applied with engine speed equal to turbine shaft speed.
• PCM calculated engine load value is greater than 200.
• Ratio of turbine shaft speed to vehicle speed equals that of 2nd gear.
