Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Determine if DTC's P0740, P0743, P0744, P0756, P0758, P0759, P0761, P0763, P0764, P0766, P0768, P0769, P0781, P0782 or P0783 are present. These flags must be eliminated first as a possible cause for DTC P0741.
  2. Check actuator operation. See ACTUATOR QUICK CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Operation sound of all actuators should be similar.
  3. Other causes for DTC P0741 are: internal leakage in TCC apply circuit, low line pressure, stuck converter charge valve, stuck open converter limiting valve and/or missing or damaged converter input shaft O-ring.
