Diagnostic Aids

A poor connection can cause an intermittent condition. Check for poor connection at SIR coil connector terminal No. A and B (at base of steering column), driver-side inflator module harness connector terminal No. A and B, SDM terminal No. A2 and A3, wire to terminal connections in CKT 347 and 348.

NOTE: Step numbers refer to step numbers on diagnostic chart. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAM .

This test checks if malfunction is in driver-side inflator module circuitry or in SDM wiring harness circuitry.
This test checks if malfunction is due to high resistance in circuit 347.
This test checks if malfunction is in driver-side inflator module or SIR coil.
This test checks if malfunction is due to high resistance in circuit 348.
