Diagnostic Aids
It is critical to diagnose all circuitry before replacing SDM. If malfunction still exists, new SDM will be damaged. An intermittent condition is likely caused by short to ground in passenger-side inflator module circuit. Inspect circuits 1403 and 1404 for cutting or chafing. If wiring pigtail of passenger-side inflator module is damaged, module must be replaced. If no faults are found after careful inspection, fault may have occurred internal to SDM.

- This test checks if malfunction is in passenger-side inflator module or circuitry.
- This test checks for short from PASSENGER SIDE LO to ground.
- This test checks for short from PASSENGER SIDE HI to ground or SDM integrity problem.
