DTC 15 - Passenger-Side Deployment Loop Resistance High: Description

When ignition switch is turned to RUN, SDM performs tests to diagnose critical malfunctions within itself. Next, SDM measures IGNITION 1 and deployment loop voltages to make sure they are within normal ranges. SDM proceeds with CURRENT SOURCE diagnostics. PASSENGER SIDE LO terminal No. A4 is grounded through a resistor and passenger current source connected to PASSENGER SIDE HI terminal No. A1 allows a known amount of current to flow. By monitoring voltage difference between PASSENGER SIDE HI and PASSENGER SIDE LO SDM calculates combined resistance of passenger-side inflator module, harness wiring circuits 1403 and 1404 and connector terminal contact.
