Valve Lifters

  1. If valve lifter diameter and lifter bore diameter are not as specified, replace lifter and/or cylinder head. See appropriate CYLINDER HEAD table and VALVE LIFTERS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. On SOHC models, check lifter guide plate width. If width is not as specified, replace lifter guide plate. Disassemble lifters. If internal components are worn, replace lifter.
