Intermediate Drive Shaft Installation

NOTICE: When inserting drive shaft into transaxle, be careful not to contact oil seal with shaft splices. The splines can damage the oil seal.





1. Install transaxle seal protector SA91112T (or equivalent).

IMPORTANT: Illustration shows left side drive axle. For intermediate drive shaft, seal protector usage is the same but for opposite side of transaxle.

2. Install intermediate drive shaft into transaxle.

3. After intermediate drive shaft splines have safely passed the transaxle oil seal, remove seal protector and fully seat intermediate drive shaft into transaxle.





4. Start all three intermediate drive shaft support bracket-to-engine block fasteners.
5. Secure all three intermediate drive shaft support bracket-to-engine block fasteners.
- Torque: 54 Nm (40 lb ft)
