Removal

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE VEHICLE THAT COMPONENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM.

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove road wheel corresponding to the knuckle being replaced.





3. Remove electrical connector from ABS wheel speed sensor.





4. Remove two caliper to knuckle mounting bolts.
5. Suspend the caliper assembly using wire by the strut spring clear of the knuckle.





6. Remove rotor from hub.
7. Remove four hub-to-knuckle bolts.
8. Remove hub and brake backing plate.





9. Loosen lateral link-to-knuckle fastener.

IMPORTANT: Do not remove fastener at this time.

10. Loosen strut-to-knuckle fasteners

IMPORTANT: Do not remove fasteners at this time.

11. Remove trailing arm-to-knuckle fastening nut.
12. Remove trailing arm-to-body fasteners and remove arm.
13. Remove lateral link-to-knuckle fastener.
14. Remove strut-to-knuckle bolts and remove knuckle from vehicle.
