Intermediate Steering Shaft - Removal

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE VEHICLE THAT COMPONENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM.

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Loosen intermediate shaft cover from steering gear and move up enough to access intermediate shaft/pinion pinch bolt.





3. Remove pinch bolt.
4. Lower vehicle on hoist.





5. Remove clamp bolt at lower steering column/intermediate shaft joint.
6. Remove intermediate shaft from inside vehicle.
