Replacement

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.





2. Remove intake air duct, air filter box and resonator.
3. Remove fan motor electrical connector.
4. Remove wiring harness from shroud.





5. Remove top hold down bolt from coolant fan assembly.

NOTE: On models with automatic transaxle it may be necessary to loosen top automatic transaxle oil cooler line and move it out of the way. On non-A/C fan, the above step is not necessary.





6. Lift coolant fan off of upper and lower mounting brackets. Move assembly to the left and rotate counterclockwise lifting right side up past upper radiator hose.
7. Remove fan from vehicle.

INSTALLATION





1. Install cooling fan in vehicle with lower left corner first.





2. Rotate assembly to place lower left fan mount under lower radiator hose.
3. Position cooling fan assembly on lower mounting brackets. Install upper fan mount pin into slot in radiator tank. Push top of a fan straight down to engage.
4. Install and tighten upper hold down bolt. Torque to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
5. Install fan motor electrical connector.
6. Install wiring harness to fan shroud.





NOTE: Tighten upper automatic transaxle oil cooler line if necessary. Position upper transaxle oil cooler line at 35 degrees and hold while tightening. Torque to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

7. Install air filter box, intake air duct and resonator.
8. Connect negative battery cable.
