With Saturn Portable Diagnostic Tool (PDT)
- Remove transaxle temperature sensor, and install pressure gauge. See Fig 1 . Connect PDT to vehicle.
- With transaxle at operating temperature, turn engine off and ignition to ON position. Go to MENU SELECTION on PDT. Select SPECIAL TEST. On next screen, select LINE PRESSURE.
- PDT will request that engine be started. Select RUN on PDT; test will begin. PDT will operate engine at 1500 RPM and command line pressure from 58-220 psi (400-1518 kPa) in 15 psi (100 kPa) increments.
- Ensure actual pressure is within range of that commanded by PDT. See LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS . If line pressure is too high or too low, see SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Using Sealant (21485278) on transaxle temperature sensor threads, install sensor to transaxle case. Clear PCM memory to remove any stored codes.
