No Reverse
- Low fluid level. Low fluid pressure. High clutch dragging. Check transaxle for 2nd gear operation. If no 2nd gear, refer to DTC 22/P0732. Refer to AUTO TRANS DIAGNOSIS - SATURN ELECTRONIC CONTROLS - 1995
article or AUTO TRANS DIAGNOSIS - SATURN ELECTRONIC CONTROLS - 1996
article in the AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS section. If 2nd gear is possible, ensure flat surface of manual valve is facing up.
- If manual valve is okay, remove valve body. Block off reverse pressure from servo-to-2nd clutch port. Using a rag, cover 1st, 3rd and 4th oil presure-to-servo port to prevent fluid spray. See Fig 1
. Apply air pressure to reverse pressure-to-servo port.
- If servo does not move, check servo piston for stuck condition and damaged seal. If servo motor moves, repair faulty dog clutch or oil tube hub seal rings.
