Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Disconnect brake switch connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor BRAKE reading. If scan tool does not indicate BRAKE is off, replace switch. If scan tool indicates BRAKE is off, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector J3. Turn ignition on. If scan tool does not indicate BRAKE is off, repair short to voltage in Brown wire between brake switch and PCM. If scan tool indicates BRAKE is off, replace PCM.
