Diagnostic Procedure
- Record malfunction history information. Clear DTCs and Information Flags. Start and idle engine for 2 minutes or until Information Flag sets. If Information Flag 71 and 79 set, go to next step. If Information Flag 79 sets, go to step 3. If flag 79 does not set, problem is intermittent. Check all appropriate connections.
- Inspect TRS 2/TCC fuse in underhood junction block. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, inspect White wire between TRS 2/TCC fuse and TCC actuator for short to ground. Repair as needed. Replace fuse. If circuit is okay, go to step 5.
- Inspect White wire between TRS 2/TCC fuse and TCC actuator for open. Repair as needed. If circuit is okay, disconnect transaxle actuator connector. Measure resistance between terminals "E" and "K" on transaxle side of connector. If resistance is greater than 6 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 6 ohms or less, inspect Tan/Black wire between TCC actuator and PCM for open or short to ground. Repair as needed. If circuit is okay, replace PCM.
- Remove actuator connector plate. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between TCC actuator terminals. If resistance is greater than 6 ohms, replace actuator. If resistance is 6 ohms or less, replace connector plate.
- Disconnect transaxle actuator connector. Measure resistance between terminals "E" and "K" on transaxle side of connector. If resistance is greater than 4 ohms, replace TRS 2/TCC fuse. If resistance is 4 ohms or less, remove actuator connector plate. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between TCC actuator terminals. If resistance is greater than 4 ohms, replace connector plate and TRS 2/TCC fuse. If resistance is 4 ohms or less, replace actuator and TRS 2/TCC fuse.
