Thrust Bearing

Thrust bearing is part of main bearing No. 3. Using a rubber mallet, tap crankshaft forward then rearward to seat thrust bearing. With main bearing cap bolts tight, check crankshaft end play. If end play exceeds specification, replace main bearing No. 3 and/or crankshaft. See CRANKSHAFT, MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.

NOTE: Cylinder No. 4 is .0004" (.01 mm) larger than other cylinders.
NOTE: A .0050" (.125 mm) oversize piston can be fit on cylinder by honing cylinder, but a .0157" (.400 mm) oversize piston requires cylinder to be bored.
