Fitting Pistons

Measure diameter of piston at a 90-degree angle to piston pin, 3/16" (5 mm) from bottom of piston. Measure diameter of cylinder bore 2 1/2" from top of bore. If oil clearance exceeds specification, bore cylinders and replace pistons with oversize pistons. See the PISTONS, PINS & RINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Also refer to the CYLINDER BLOCK  table. Pistons are available in .0050" (.125 mm) and .0157" (.400 mm) oversize.
