License Plate Lights Inoperative
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X4 at the K9 Body Control Module BCM.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the voltage supply circuit terminal 13 X4 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the license lamp voltage supply circuit for open circuit/high resistance or short to ground.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the E7 License Plate Lamp.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Connect a test lamp between the license lamp control circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- Ignition ON, cycle the switch between parklamps ON and OFF. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF.
- If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module BCM.
- If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module BCM.
- If all the circuits test normal, replace the E7 License Plate Lamp.
