Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connectors at the appropriate inoperative accent light.
  2. Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground of the listed accent lamps:
    • E1P Accent Lamp - Passenger Door
    • E1D Accent Lamp - Driver Door
    • E1M Accent Lamp - Passenger Door Handle
    • E1C Accent Lamp - Driver Door Handle
    • E28 Center Console Compartment Lamp
    • E1E Accent Lamp - Left Rear Door Handle
    • E1LR Accent Lamp - Left Rear Door
    • E1F Accent Lamp - Right Rear Door Handle
    • E1RR Accent Lamp - Right Rear Door
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Exterior lights OFF
  5. Ignition OFF
  6. Close all doors and lock the vehicle, test for less than 0.3 V between control circuit terminal 1 of the appropriate inoperative accent light and ground after 5 s.
  7. If greater than the specified value, test the circuit for a short to voltage. If all circuits test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
  8. Unlock the vehicle.
  9. Open the driver door.
  10. Test for greater than 11 V between control circuit terminal 1 of the appropriate inoperative accent light and ground.
  11. If less than the specified value, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If all circuits test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
  12. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate inoperative accent light.
