Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 Ω between the X88 Trailer Connector terminal 3, 11, 13 and ground.
  2. If greater than the specified value, test the appropriate ground circuit for an open circuit/high resistance.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the appropriate X88 Trailer Connector terminal listed below and ground.
    • X88 Trailer Connector terminal 1
    • X88 Trailer Connector terminal 4
  4. Command the appropriate Trailer Turn Signal Lamp Active/Inactive test with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
  5. If the test lamp is always ON, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K68 Trailer Lighting Control Module.
  6. If the test lamp is always OFF, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the K68 Trailer Lighting Control Module.
  7. If all the circuits test normal, test the appropriate turn signal lamp circuit at the trailer.
