Circuit/System Testing

  1. With the ignition OFF, detach the cable connector from E6 center, high-level brake light.
  2. Check that there is less than 5 Ω between ground and terminal 2 on the ground circuit cable connection for E6 center, high-level brake light.

==> If resistance is greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open circuit/high resistance.

  3. Connect a test lamp between ground and terminal 3 on the ground circuit cable connection for E6 center, high-level brake light.
  4. Run the test of the center brake light command using a scan tool. The test lamp should come on and go out when the status has changed.

==> If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the test shows that the circuit is normal, replace the body control module K9.

==> If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the test shows that the circuit is normal, replace the body control module K9.

  5. Replace E6 center, high-level brake light if all circuits have normal test results.
