Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, remove the appropriate E7 License Plate Lamp bulb and inspect.
- If bulb is faulty, replace bulb.
- Disconnect the harness connector at E7 License Plate Lamp.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the license plate lamp ground circuit harness connector terminal 1 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open circuit/high resistance.
- Connect a test lamp between the control circuit harness connector terminal 3 and ground.
- Command the License Plate Lamps test with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
- If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the test shows that the circuit is normal, replace the body electronic module K9.
- If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the test shows that the circuit is normal, replace the body electronic module K9.
