Fitting Weatherstrip In Steering Wheel

WARNING: Read the safety and handling instructions for the Airbag (SRS) before starting work.
  1. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and remove it.
  2. Remove the airbag module, two plugs and two screws.

  3. Lift out the module and unplug the cable connections.
  4. Clean the surface from grease and dirt. Use 93 160 920 Cleaner.

    Fit the weatherstrip even with the interior edge as illustrated. Press in the weatherstrip securely.

    NOTE: It is important that the weatherstrip sits tightly against the steering wheel cover so that air does not leak out.
  5. Plug in the cables to the airbag module.

  6. Fit the module and its two screws. Make sure the strip does not poke out of the edges. Fit the plugs in the screw holes.
  7. Start the engine and check that the airbag lamp does not indicate a fault.
    • If the lamp indicates a fault, the airbag system performs a fault diagnosis.
  8. Check the signal function.
