To remove

  1. Open the tailgate
  2. Remove the upper protective shell. See .
  3. Remove the screws in the wheel housing, 2 on each side.

  4. Lift out the storage compartments and their covers on both sides.

  5. Remove the insulation pads. The old ones must be discarded and replaced by new ones.
  6. Remove the nuts holding the bumper and the through bolts with nuts on the outside.

    Come cars have press nuts and in such cases it is sufficient to just remove the bolts.

  7. Remove the towbar connector, the cable tie and the bolt holding the towbar to the body.

  8. Together with an assistant, pull the bumper from the edge of the wheel housing and the clips. Lift the bumper out backwards. For cars equipped with Saab Parking Assistance (SPA):  Remove the connector.
    IMPORTANT: Be careful to avoid damaging the paintwork.
