Outer sill reinforcement: Fitting

  1. Cut the new sill reinforcement at the rear edge of the square hole so that it corresponds with the existing joints in the body.
  2. Align any sheet metal or panel damage.
  3. Grind clean the surfaces on the body and the new sill reinforcement that are to be welded.
  4. Apply welding primer to the surfaces that are to be welded.
  5. Position the sill reinforcement and fix it with a few welding clamps.
  6. Plug-weld it to the A pillar reinforcement and all-weld the rear joint.
  7. Grind down the welds on the outer sill that are to be welded.
  8. Apply primer to both sides of the weld. Use Standox 1K Fullprimer.
  9. Fit the outer sill.
